Hello there — I’m Jenn (she/her), the founder of Wilde Heart Weddings. This work grew from my own spiritual path and my calling to create ceremonies that feel intentional, grounded, and deeply meaningful. What began with becoming an ordained minister has grown into a team-based offering rooted in care, connection, and storytelling.

At Wilde Heart Weddings, we approach ceremonies as speakers and storytellers — not just officiants. We take the time to truly know you as a couple: the moments that brought you together, the laughter, the tenderness, and the beautifully imperfect details that make your relationship your own.

We believe it matters who stands with you on your wedding day. Trust, comfort, and connection are essential — and our hope is that by the time your ceremony arrives, you feel supported, understood, and genuinely at ease.

Zion National Park has this way of holding you — reminding us that love is ancient, natural, and meant to be witnessed.

In light of the challenges and changes happening around marriage equality, and a time when love needs to be affirmed and protected, I feel called to act.

I’m now offering virtual wedding ceremonies for LGBTQ+ couples located in the United States for the reduced rate of $50. AND, from each ceremony 70% of the fee will be donated to the Human Rights Campaign, in support of equality, advocacy, and the continued protection of marriage rights.

This is my way of standing in love — creating space for every couple to celebrate their union with dignity, joy, and intention.

History & Symbolism of the wedding Arch

The arch is symbolic of structure, support, and stability.

To me, the beautiful arches that we find in nature take that symbolism one step further; when I see these magnificent arches, they speak to me about growth, journeys on a shared path, and withstanding all that goes on around us, weatherimg the storm, if you will.

In the past, the wedding arch has represented the future home of the couple and the journey of moving towards a new life together. A curved arch was thought to be a passage between the past and the future.

Spiritually, walking through an archway represents the removal and letting go of the old, therefore moving into a new phase of life.

Sounds pretty perfect, right??

Did you know that about 75% of our ceremonies include some type of unity ritual. Most often, couples choose the tradition of Handfasting to incorporate into their ceremony?

How do you choose a Handfasting cord(s)? Well, you can DIY it, order online, or Jenn makes custom cords for our couples if they choose. (Soon Jenn's cords will be available to all via Etsy and our website!)

When a couple wants to include this tradition, we share examples of ceremonies, ideas for customization AND examples of cords so that a couple has all of the info they need (no searching the internet for options!)

After sharing my decision to step back from officiating weddings, I experienced a confusing range of emotions — relief, love, compassion, and also an unexpected profound loss, which ultimately led to beautiful clarity.

That is why, in my post earlier this month, I shared that I have not left this part of my life. What I actually needed was to create space — space to breathe, to wander, and to reconnect with my heart.

But the heart of what I do... the sacred magic of ceremonies and the honor of witnessing love — remains with me always. It’s something I could never let go. So while I may slow down, say “no” more often, and focus on what feeds my soul, I’m still here, just in a gentler, more grounded way that feels true to who I am now.

Thank you for walking this journey with me. The road ahead may look different, but the love at its core is unchanged.

I actually saw him for the first time on the winter solstice, a week earlier our eyes met across the room, and I knew there was a deeper connection!

08.30.2022
He asked me to marry him under the stars at a Bob Dylan concert in Park City... I said Hell Yes! He also proposed with my ring a couple of days later, over breakfast on our deck.

12.28.2002 - Wedding Day!

2003 - Moved to Washington.

2005 - Big changes!
Dylan arrived.
Garrett had been Tanners "Dad" since shortly after we met, but it was made official that Summer.

2007 - Moved back to Utah.

2008 to present... All the ups and downs, healing, growth, loss, pain, distractions, challenges, joy, laughs, and love, along with sunsets, sunrises, rainbows, full moons, dark skies, desert roads. All of which led to incredible memories 🩶

He is my rock, the stoic balance to my chaos. My best friend and the love of my life!

If you have been following me for awhile, you have probably noticed that I go through phases when it comes to social media.

I take long breaks from apps like IG etc. to just be. Mostly because even though I'm an extrovert I also value my time alone without any noise from the outside world. It's all about finding balance.

Because of the busiest fall wedding season ever, moving, grief, and just the ups and downs of life my socials have kinda gone dark.

Honestly, I am not magically back "on" and ready to share all the light lovey-dovey goodness oof weddings, in fact I can confidently say that I will still be a bit inconsistent on socials. Because that's just me 🩶

Moving into 2025 will look different, slower, less travel, fewer weddings in order to have a deeper connection with my couples, more intention, and spiritual ceremonies.

Really, just me, being authentically me, no matter what that might look like to everyone else.

In the meantime, I am excited to start sharing as I take a few weeks to reminisce about 2024 and all the incredible love stories I was honored to be part of!

Recent events have shaken us all, regardless of who you are, the magnitude of the changes brought forth on November 6, 2024, will resonate in our lives for what feels like an insurmountable stretch into our future. Because of that, I want to recognize the need for support, understanding, and unity now more than ever.

I haven't used this space to discuss politics, yet tried to make it clear that I am a loud advocate for equality and part of the LGBTQ+ community. So I hope it comes as no surprise, that there are certain things I can not ignore—like the importance of equality, the safety of our communities, and the protection of human rights.

This is a place where love, respect, and understanding matter above all. I believe that human rights, empathy, and compassion are essential values, and I will always stand by them. I’m here to serve people from all walks of life and all beliefs, and that commitment won’t waver, even if it means losing a few folxs along the way.

Any background, culture, or belief, man, woman, nonbinary, LGBTQ+, from a—you are seen, valued, and respected. I am committed to being a light during what might be a dark time for many humans.

Thank you for being here, and know that you’re in a place where you are truly welcome.

Even though it is not your average Zion wedding photo, it will forever be one of my favorites!

Cecilia (their amazing photographer @cecharvard) snapped this candid photo while we were hanging with the surprise wedding guests.

After the ceremony, when Jennifer and Daniel found out that my hubby and doggos were along for the ride, conveniently napping in the car, they asked if they could meet Marlee & Baylee... who can pass up hanging with dogs on their wedding day??

Nestled on an overlook just beyond Zion's grandeur, Monika and Will celebrated a love that resonates with the spirit of the landscape.

As their officiant and guide, I wove a tapestry of serenity and intention for their ceremony. Starting with a guided meditation and singing bowl, they sat holding hands and became one with the world around them.

We continued the ceremony with them seated, gazing into one and others eyes, this moment marks represents the first step on their path as Husband and Wife and their intentional journey together.

Take me back to the snow-capped peaks of Wyoming with Connie & Doug!! Seriously though, this summer when I was in Wyoming for a Grand Teton elopement, my BFF and I wandered to a little town (2+ hours away) to get some Whiskey because we didn't want to be in the hustle and bustle of Jackson Hole.

Well, I FELL IN LOVE WITH THAT LITTLE TOWN! I figured I'd get back there next summer if I got lucky! I got lucky a little sooner than expected, when Connie reached out and told me.where they were eloping, because it was at an AirBnB in the little Wyoming town I missed so much!

Fast forward to the day after this elopement, I actually cried because my soul felt so at home there. I told @garrettrwilde this is where we will retire .

Chantae and Russ had a mountain wedding in the most beautiful location. Everything about their day was intentionally chill, and completely true to them as a couple!

Russ made the arch from wood gathered in the area, their favorite people were there to cheer them on, and of course, their dogs (and cat!) were there as well, they rode dirt bikes and drank beer and celebrated life and love!

2 months later, and I am still thinking of this awesome wedding in the Historic town of Ophir Utah!

Meara and Jake reached out with a plan to get married in the place where they had their first date... AND wanted something symbolic and intentional... and had a rock-a-billy 50's theme in mind, so of course, I said HELL YES to being their officiant!

Congratulations you two!!

Taking a selfie with each couple has been part of my vibe since the very beginning! On rare occasions, I miss getting this moment with the couple, and often they are as bummed about it as I am.

Sure I would LOVE to get access to professional photos with every couple (like this one and others from @anchoredimage) but that is not always possible. So I try to always capture some element of my connection with each couple, and that is often in the form of a selfie!

My quirkiness is part of what makes me... me. This is just a reminder, we are not meant to be a part of everyone's story, and I am completely okay with that because when I meet those people who appreciate me, exactly as I am, I know I have found my people!

Happy anniversary to the cutest couple! Here are some ideas to celebrate your anniversaries.

•Use your guest book! Have boxes, bottles of champagne, or envelopes labeled with years. Then have your guests give you advice for each year. Or like Caitlynn and Scooter, just have them sign your bottles and enjoy each one on your anniversary. 🥰

•Reminisce ! This is an easy one! You can fill a box with your pictures, video, invites, vow books, etc. Each year, open it up and look through it all together.

•Write each other letters! On your wedding day, set aside time to write each other a letter for your one year anniversary. Then read it and write a new one for your second year anniversary!

•Dress up! Wear your dresses and suits together- even if it’s just at home on the couch, reminiscing and eating food together.

2 of my past couples and friends are celebrating their anniversary today!
(You might recognize two of them from my previous post.)

I performed Chris & Nicole's ceremony in 2021, and of course, we kept in touch. I found out they would be back in Utah for their anniversary in 2022, so we made a general plan to meet up for drinks.

I reached back out to Nicole the night before about possibly getting together on the 29th because I was busy with another couple the following day. In chatting about our plans, we realized that we would be in the same remote area around the same time!

Fast forward to the next morning, when their photographer, Allison of @unchartedelopements
reached out to me, letting me in on the BIG secret that she too was in town because Chris had hired her to take anniversary pics at the same spot we were having Steven and Jennifer's elopement ceremony!

We happened to need another witness to make the ceremony later that day legal... and Chris & Nicole agreed to be witnesses.

We met up in the afternoon and traveled down a dusty desert road in the jeeps to the Cliffside where Jen & Steve would say "I Do" and Chris & Nicole's would celebrate their 1 year anniversary!

A year we are all at different ends of the USA, celebrating these beautiful love stories that had a chapter that forever connected us all 🩷
